Senior Java Developer
With even more ambitious growth plans for 2023 and beyond, we’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer (Java) to work on interesting and varied projects across a range of industries. We are looking for someone who will take ownership and work autonomously to drive our digital ambitions from idea to implementation and beyond.
What experience you’ll need
- Building best of breed ultra-low latency connectivity to new markets
- Hands on technical development role on a critical trading application
- Requirements capture, analysis and design on the eTrading platform
- Testing and UA coordination
- Liaison with the global business, support and development teams
- Troubleshoot and optimization on performance and scalability issues
- Third line support of the platform during trading hours
- Close interaction with the business product manager and other internal business users
Requirements
• 5 years + as a Java software engineer/developer focused on backend systems
• Strong experience: Spring Framework, Spring Boot, SOAP & REST Webservices, JPA (Hibernate), SQL (Oracle), Junit and recent Java versions
• Solid experience: Maven, Git, Jenkins, Jira, Sonar, Tomcat application server and Linux
• Basic knowledge (min. 2 areas out of 4): Front-end Development, Apache Struts, Cloud Native Apps, Test Automation
• Know-how to apply standard methods, techniques and templates as defined by our SDLC i.e. code repository handling, code inspection, penetration testing etc
• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree or equivalent with a focus in technical and/or finance-related subjects
• An innovative mindset and a great interest in shaping the future of technology in financial applications
• Fluent English language skills are a must-have
What you’ll be doing
You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining software applications that meet the needs of over 1,000 clients across 30 countries. You will work closely with their CTO, ensuring that all software meets or exceeds quality standards. Working on exciting and challenging projects, collaborating with directors and management. You’ll be involved in testing and demoing new features and modules to the team, reviewing code and providing feedback to other developers. A key part of the role will be to help shape and grow a team along with their CTO, building a great future for the business and having your say in technical direction too.
